Dorel Juvenile is looking for a Project Manager to join the product development team at our office in Columbus, IN.
The Project manager will be an active contributor to the core business team comprised of Marketing, Quality, Design Engineering, Creative Services, and other functional disciplines in the execution of commercialization of innovative juvenile products within their specified product categories. The Project Manager will own and drive projects from concept through production. This person is responsible for meeting team sales and profit goals and is accountable for the execution of all product development documentation deliverables, timelines, and costs of the products. This candidate will lead the product development process providing project schedules, updates through the product availability process, and provide clear communication to external resources and manufacturing partners.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Program Management, Project Management, or Industrial Design preferred. Must have 3+ years of experience of consumer products manufacturing as a Project Manager, Project Manager, Design Engineer, or product development related fields. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both Chinese and domestic manufacturing. The candidate should display a working knowledge in creating, negotiating, and managing to a product development and capital expense budget. The candidate will support and champion a Phase/Gate New Product Development Process. Must be a team player who possesses strong communication, organizational and time management skills. Must be a dedicated, organized, detail-oriented, creative, confident, self-motivated, results focused individual with the ability to demonstrate a solid personal commitment to the company's success and profitability. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills interfacing with management and foreign offices. This person should have a working knowledge of plastic part design and fabric development. Strong technical skills integrated with excellent planning, organization, and follow through abilities a must. Must exhibit fluency in PC usage including Outlook, MS word, MS Excel, and project management. Domestic and International travel is a potential, Far East travel may be between 2-3 times a year averaging 2 weeks in duration or as required.
