Manager, Global Sourcing
Dorel Juvenile is looking for a Global Sourcing Manager to join the Design and Development Center in Foxboro, MA.
The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for continually enhancing global operational performance via supply chain excellence, process management and improvement, and coordination of worldwide offices, assets and partners. The Manager will have primary responsibility for managing relationships with finished good suppliers supporting the Foxboro Design and Development office. The Manager will work with the Foxboro product teams directly to support Sourcing, Development and Quality initiatives. The Manager will also have some responsibility for process formulation throughout DJG. An explicit goal of this position is to shift responsibility and activity from the US to Dorel Juvenile China.
Ensure that the global supply chain is competitively priced, has sufficient capacity, delivers product in a timely manner, meets quality standards, and has technical capabilities to support product strategy. Improve margins and KPI across categories by identifying and acting on operational, performance, cost to serve and product cost opportunities. Define, publish, negotiate and enforce supplier management policies, contracts and procedures. Negotiate pricing for new and running line products, mitigate cost increases, and negotiate/achieve costs savings on running line products. Lead sourcing efforts for new products, suppliers, technologies, and services as needed by the development teams.
Build and integrate Dorel China Sourcing and Logistics teams, developing processes, procedures and training programs to ensure their success. Partner with Sales, Customer Operations, Logistics, Forecasting, Domestic Procurement and Demand Planning and Quality to ensure customer needs are met and inventory minimized.
Bachelor degree with engineering or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required. Candidate must have a strong business orientation. MBA is a plus. Must have 6+ years working experience in consumer products, with minimum 2 years of supervisory experience. Must have broad experience working with Asian suppliers. Must have broad exposure to all aspects of supply chain management, product development, and quality management. Sound experience in people management, process development and leading cross functional teams. Must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while making clear, concise decisions. Up to 25% travel, including international.
