Dorel Juvenile Group USA Releases Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Line
Innovative products take children's health and safety to the next level
Columbus, IN and Foxboro, Mass. October 27, 2008 - Dorel Juvenile Group USA (DJG USA), a division of Dorel Industries (TSX: DII.B DII.A), the nation's largest juvenile products manufacturer, today announced the release of the highly anticipated Safety 1st® ProGrade™ collection. Spanning the infant health and home safety categories with 10 products, the Safety 1st® ProGrade™ collection was developed in conjunction with experts in each field to create innovative product solutions for everyday parental needs The Safety 1st ProGrade™ Infant health collection is available now at Babies "R" Us® Stores and Babiesrus.com. The Safety 1st ProGrade™ Home Safety Collection will hit Babies "R" Us® stores and Babiesrus.com in late November.
The company's inspiration for the ProGrade™ Collection came from overwhelming research that parents' needs and lifestyles are changing, and health and home safety items for children must adapt accordingly. The ProGrade™ Home Safety line was developed in collaboration with professional childproofers, while the ProGrade™ Infant Health line leverages the company's relationship with medical professionals from local children's hospitals.

Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Clear View Ear Scope ($19.99) - helps parents detect ear infections. The scope features a wide lens that illuminates and magnifies the ear canal. Tips in three sizes are included. The scope includes a guide to ear infections but does not replace a doctor's visit.
Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Complete Family Thermometer ($39.99) - the only thermometer needed for the whole family. The thermometer includes and stores three different tips used for three modes of use: oral, rectal and underarm. Each reading only takes five seconds. The last 10 readings, along with the time taken, are stored in the thermometer's memory. A "Fever Flash™" function glows red to indicate a high temperature, while a "Clean Me" alert reminds parents to clean the unit after each use.

Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Flat Screen TV Lock ($29.99) - secures free standing flat-screen TVs to ensure they do not tip from furniture onto a child. The lock, which should be affixed to the wall behind the TV, attaches to existing VESA mount holes on the back of the TV. Accommodating most 32" - 60" TVs, extending 6" - 20" and pivoting left and right, the Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Flat Screen TV Lock enables secure viewing.
Safety 1st® ProGrade™ Front Load Washer-Dryer Lock ($14.99) - securely locks front load washers and dryers when not in use. A rubber overmold prevents scratching or marring the machines, while the adhesive backing is easy to mount. The lock's SecureTech™ indicator shows parents when the unit is properly fastened.
