Dorel Juvenile Group on the New CPSC Website, www.SaferProducts.gov
With the launch of the new database www.saferproducts.gov, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has been given a new tool to collect information about consumer products in the marketplace. The database, mandated by Congress, is intended to collect information from consumers, child service providers, healthcare professionals and public safety advocates about the more than 15,000 products regulated by the CPSC.Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) understands that government regulatory agencies such as the CPSC want to hear from consumers and we agree with the sharing of information. While the database is a new method for the CPSC to learn more about products and potential hazards, it should not be the only way. We believe direct dialogue is the most productive and effective means to resolve concerns and stay in touch with consumers.
We at DJG share the belief that information is valuable and we have much to learn from consumers who buy and use our products. Consumer questions and concerns are important to us and we’ll do what it takes to ensure that not only can consumers use our products with the utmost confidence but also be available to answer questions.
Over our half a century in business, we have established a number of different ways for consumers to reach us, provide feedback, and share opinions about the products we offer. We still employ our own in-house customer relations staff that is available at 800-544-1108 or consumer@djgusa.com to take calls and emails, answer questions, address concerns and pass along compliments about our products. Additionally we have embraced social media as a way to communicate to consumers by utilizing Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
Although the database is new, our cooperation and collaboration with the CPSC is not. We will continue to work with regulators to review and address concerns that come to us directly or through this new reporting system. Additionally, our commitment to children and safety is unwavering. Dorel Juvenile Group will continue to work every day to earn the trust of parents and caregivers and provide products that are of the highest quality, design and value.
